KILDARE: Poor road markings are causing traffic accidents
Kildare County Council has been called on to immediately reinstate the road markings at a busy junction in Prosperous.
Aontú representative for Kildare, Una O’ Connor, says the markings at the junction on Blackstick Road, Prosperous, are almost completely obliterated, “leading to almost daily collisions.”
Ms O’Connor said “This is a very busy junction, it is directly outside the GAA club. The stop line and other road markings are almost completely obliterated and I recently witnesse another near miss when a car coming from the side road almost collided with a passing truck. There is a serious accident waiting to happen here and I have written to the roads department at KCC. We know our roads are becoming more and more dangerous so it is incumbent on the council to fix this junction immediately”.
