KILDARE: Popular pub broken into during night

Gardaí are investigating a break-in at The Straffan Inn premises in Straffan village at the weekend.

It's understood that the incident took place between 4.20am and 4.30am in the early hours of Friday, December 16.

A lone male forced a front door with a crowbar and also damaged an internal door. 

It's understood that no money was kept on the premises and nothing was taken. 

A Garda statement, which didn't identify the premises, said: "Gardaí are investigating an alleged burglary that occurred at a licenced premises in the Straffan area, Co. Kildare shortly before 4:30am on Friday 16th December 2022.

"No arrests have been made at this stage.

"Enquiries are ongoing."
