KILDARE: Sallins Ladybirds take part in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths event

Sallins Ladybird Unit, which just reformed this year, currently has 19 members, aged between 5-7years old.
The group took part in the 'First Lego League Discover Masterpiece Challenge'.
A global STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) programme for young people aged 4-7 years which helps develop STEM skills from an early age. Children explore a real-world theme and learn through play.
The Ladybirds completed their challenge over a 3 week period, culminating last weekend with their Masterpiece Showcase and Award Ceremony.
The masterpieces created by each of the four teams, saw the girls imagine and innovate new ways to share their passions, hobbies and interests with others while learning about how experts in a variety of creative fields use STEM in their roles.
This was made possible through IGG and Learnit.
Thanks was extended to Unit Leaders and Helpers; Deborah O'Neill Sinnott, Trish McGibney, Leah Cahill, Jenny Madsen and Ciara Keogh.
The Masterpiece Showcase and Ceremon took place in Sallins Scout Centre over the weekend.
