Kildare woman grabbed charges sheets belonging to another person in garda station
A woman grabbed charge sheets belonging to another person while she was being detained at a garda station.
Before Naas District Court was Xing Xin Lu, 34 , whose address was given as 13 Moyglare Court, Maynooth.
She was prosecuted for stealing €51 worth of petrol. This incident took place at a Circle K station at Straffan Road, Maynooth, on May 11 last.
The court heard that after she was arrested she grabbed the charge sheets in the station where she was behaving a bit aggressively.
Garda McCool told the court that the defendant “is a different woman, talking to her today “ and added that the defendant had had mental health issues at the time.
Defending solicitor Tim Kennelly said the woman had apologised to gardaí and had paid back the money owed.
Applying the Probation Act, Judge Desmond Zaidan commented that should there be a relapse because she did not comply with medical directives, he would not be lenient if another case comes before him.
