LATEST: Almost 1,400 customers without power in Kilcullen area

An electricity fault in the Kilcullen area has knocked out power to almost 1,400 customers this afternoon. 

The Power Check website run by ESB Networks said 1,398 accounts are affected.

An ESB Networks spokesperson said: "We apologise for the loss of supply. We are currently working to repair the fault and will restore power as quickly as possible."

The estimated time for restoring the fault is 7pm, according to the website.
