Man 'punched his partner for talking to his friend,' Kildare court told

The woman told Naas District Court she was struck on the face, mouth and head
A woman was punched by her partner because she was talking to his friend.
This was the claim made at a family law hearing at Naas District Court.
The woman said that a man of east European origin is living with them and he is a friend of her partner.
The woman said she was punched to the face, mouth and head.
She alleged this had happened because she had talked to the man while having a cup of coffee in the garden.
She also claimed her partner "likes to drink alcohol” and “he gets jealous, he gets mad.”
She added her daughter's birthday had taken place around the same time and said her daughter loves her partner.
She also claimed the partner called her a bitch and a whore.
She said they fight over money "because he spends a lot.”
Judge Desmond Zaidan granted an interim protection order and adjourned the case to March 8.
He told the woman if she wanted the order to continue beyond that date she would have to come back to court. He also advised her to contact the gardaí if she had any concerns for her safety.
The man was neither present nor represented.
