More homes are being built in Naas than most other places in Ireland

Council official refutes claim
More housing and apartments are being provided in the Naas area than just about any other region in Ireland.
Kildare County Council official Eoghan Ryan said that the Naas area is third highest in terms of building new homes and is outdone only by Cork and north Dublin.
He was responding to Cllr Bill Clear, who suggested that the rate of construction is slow considering that the number of housing units in the Naas urban area was 428 between 2022 and 2023.
Mr Ryan said that the building of residential accommodation is not like producing goods in a factory - there are peaks and troughs and this is an accepted feature of the industry.
He added: “There is a lot of housing in the pipeline and this includes 230 homes being built at Barracksfield - adjacent to Aras Chill Dara and the former Devoy Barracks site in Naas.
He stated: “It is not all happening at once, but there is a lot of activity in the Naas Municipal District,” which also includes Kill, Johnstown, Sallins and Ballymore Eustace.
