A garda speed enforcement operation was held on the R148 at Laraghbryan, Co Kildare recently

Naas Roads Policing Unit recently conducted a speed enforcement operation on the R148 at Laraghbryan, Co Kildare outside the cemetery.

The particular area is a 60 km/h zone, however, a number of drivers chose to break the legal speed limit.

The worst offender was clocked at 96 km/h in the 60 km/h zone.

All offending motorists were issued with:

  • €160 Fixed Charge Notice
  • Three penalty points

A garda spokesperson stated: “The speed limit isn't a target—it's a limit. Outside a cemetery is probably not a great place to be in a hurry.

“Please slow down. A few minutes saved isn't worth a lifetime of regret.”
