New pedestrian crossing to be built near Kildare shopping mall

A new pedestrian crossing is to be constructed in Naas.

Cllr Evie Sammon was told at a Naas Municipal District meeting that the crossing is to be located on the Dublin Road at the Naas Town Centre shopping mall.

According to Kildare County Council engineer Chris Galvin a design has been prepared for the facility and when it is approved it will be made available to local councillors.

Cllr Sammon pointed out that €50,000 was allocated to the project from property tax received. She added: “I hope it will be done this year.”
