NEWS BRIEF: Kildare County Council marks ‘locations of interest’ in database

Kildare County Council has logged ‘locations of interest’ (LOI) relating to areas where road traffic collisions have occurred.
The council made the comments in response to a motion put forward by Sinn Féin councillor Noel Connolly, who requested that the council to 'identify the three main accident black spots in the municipal district and outline its plans to improve safety at these locations.'
The motion was heard at the latest Kildare-Newbridge Municipal District meeting on Wednesday, May 17, last.
In its report, the council noted: "The Department of Transport Support Office, as part of the Regional Road Network Safety Analysis has identified LOI across Kildare.
"These locations are identified based on collision data."
