The current supply is adequate, says Kildare County Council

No more power points are needed for the weekly Saturday market and other events at the Potato Market site in Naas.

These were requested by Cllr Ger Dunne “to facilitate more stalls and traders and to help increase footfall on market days and festival days.”

But, Kildare County Council says there are numerous electrical sockets available along the perimeter wall with six catering for 16 AMP sockets (for hot food stalls).

KCC official Eoghan Ryan said it should be noted that some traders have their own energy supply and some also use gas.

“To date, the current number of sockets has been more than adequate to cater for the current demand," he told a Naas Municipal District committee meeting.
