Over €12,000 in maintenance payments owed by man - claim
'You can't bury your head in the sand'
A man owes almost €12,400 in maintenance payments to his partner, Naas District Court heard. The court was told they have a child.
Judge Desmond Zaidan advised the man to take legal advice, telling him he cannot bury his head in the sand over the issue.
He also told the man that he could send him to prison for an indefinite period because of the non-payments adding “it’s your child.”
The judge added “Ireland is an expensive place to live” and adjourned the case to May 13, tell telling the man to make a serious effort to pay the money.
