It'll be alleged she was punched in the face
A picture showing a woman with a black eye was handed in to Naas District Court.
A man is being prosecuted in relation to an incident in north Kildare on March 23, 2025.
Sgt Mary Meade said it will be alleged that the defendant punched her in the face and this caused bruising, swelling and blurred vision to her eye.
Judge Miriam Walsh indicated she would not accept jurisdiction, meaning that the case is likely to be heard by another court.
The judge granted free legal aid and adjourned the matter to August 14.
