St Mary's College, Naas organising fundraising events on April 20

The Parents Council of St. Mary’s College Naas have announced details of its inaugural ‘Pop-Up’ 5k Run and 2k Walk; where monies raised from the event will go towards the students attending the College.

The Parents Council have organised for Pop-Up Races to attend the event, where participants can experience personal achievement from having their running or walking times professionally recorded, and if not for you, otherwise enjoy the country surrounds of Naas Racecourse in the company of friends and family.
This is the first ‘Pop-Up’ event the Parents Council has organised on behalf of the school. According to Gavan Dunne, Chairperson for the Council, “the Council wanted to organise an event where students, their families and the wider community could participate together, benefiting from the positives of sport and exercise, irrespective of competition or performance”.
Funds raised from the event will contribute to the Parents Council’s ongoing support of the students attending St. Mary’s College Naas. Ongoing support includes the funding of sporting facilities and equipment; online educational resources, professional speakers, student driven initiatives in the areas of art, drama and science.
The event has been generously supported by local business, including the Queally Group, Volvo Commercials and Irish Dog Foods.
Julianne McElligott, Public Relations Officer, explains “we are looking forward to having as many participants as possible on the day, however, people can support the even remotely by clicking on PopUpRaces.Com and joining the event virtually. We already have virtual entries from London, even San Francisco not to mention Clane!!”
Look out for the entry QR Codes displayed across Naas town, or on social media, in particular St. Mary’s College website, social media pages or visit www.popupraces.com directly.
