Stripping and robbing incident accused back in Kildare court

CASE UPDATE
Directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) are not yet ready in the case of a woman accused of stripping and robbing an elderly man in Naas.
Judge Desmond Zaidan was first informed about the allegations faced by Florentine Baeram, of no fixed abode, Newbridge, at Naas District Court last month.
The 31-year-old defendant appeared in court on the latest date (Thursday, May 23 last) in person, as she was granted bail.
FIRST ALLEGED INCIDENT
Ms Baeram is being prosecuted for entering an address at Naas on March 29 with another woman.
It was alleged by Garda Sergeant Dave Hanrahan that one of them started to kiss him, offered sex and took him into a bedroom where his clothes were taken off by one woman before €110 was stolen by the other.
The court heard he thought they were social workers.
He also claimed that evidence found at the scene belongs to the defendant.
SECOND ALLEGED INCIDENT
Sgt Hanrahan further said on March 28 last, a man aged in his 80s was accosted by the defendant in Newbridge after being approached by two females.
He was assaulted, knocked to the ground and money(€450) taken from him.
The man was using a walking frame.
Sgt Hanrahan said he was targeted after collecting the pension at the post office.
The court heard that a number of days later a member of the public contacted the gardaí to report that two women were approaching elderly men on the main street.
The court also heard that the defendant admitted to being in a house and the other woman has yet to be identified.
UPDATE
On the latest court date (Thursday, May 23 last), the court was told by Sgt Hanrahan that DPP directions are not yet ready in the case involving the first incident, but added that DPP directions were ready in relation to the second case.
He also said that the other suspect remains unidentified at present.
Judge Zaidan adjourned the matter to June 27, and remanded Ms Baeram on continuing bail until the case resumes.
DPP directions are due for the first case and a book of evidence is expected to be produced for the second case on the next court date.
