Three soccer clubs in this Kildare town have no facilities

Kildare County Council refuses to grant long term lease arrangements
Three soccer clubs in Naas are without a place they can call their own.
Naas Mayor Seamie Moore said the three have no facilities.
He said the absence of proper playing facilities means that clubs can't progress through competitions and play at a higher level.
At a Naas Municipal District committee meeting he asked that Kildare County Council provide long term leases to sports groups using amenity lands owned by KCC.
He said this would enable them to apply for government grants.
He said this money is needed to pay for changing rooms, toilets and pavilions.
But KCC official Simon Wallace replied that there is increasing demand for sports facilities and there is a need for clubs to share these and facilitate possible change of use or additional use.
He said the use of long term leases would prevent this and these issues need to be considered against any request for a lease.
