Two vehicles seized at early morning Kildare garda checkpoint

An early morning garda checkpoint was recently conducted by Naas Roads Policing Unit in Co Kildare.
Gardai were pleased to find that of 43 motorists stopped and tested, all passed.
However there were two notable exceptions:
One vehicle was seized for having no insurance; while another was seized for having no NCT for two years and a dangerously worn tyre.
A garda spokesperson said of the offences: “Let’s be clear: driving without insurance, skipping your NCT, or ignoring basic vehicle safety isn’t just illegal — it puts lives at risk.
“Every time you take to the road, you’re responsible not just for yourself, but for every other road user.
“Most drivers are doing the right thing. A small number are still taking chances.
“We will continue to be out. We will continue to stop vehicles. And we will take action.
“No insurance. No NCT. Unsafe vehicle. No excuses.”
