Two year wait for a bus stop in this busy Kildare town centre

Kildare County Council says its 'under review' - despite encouraging people to use public transport
The wait for a bus stop at a prominent location in Naas is two years old.
That’s according to Cllr Fintan Brett who criticised the failure to reinstate the stop at Poplar Square in front of Lawlor’s hotel and Hayden’s pub.
“I don’t know why it hasn’t been reinstated; this has been going on for two years," he told a Naas Municipal District meeting.
He pointed out that the area is the location of medical services, and pharmacies and is close to the Dunnes Stores outlet.
“Older people have to be left off at the stop at Market Square (in the town centre) and then walk back,” he said.
He also claimed that money is available to do this.
According to Kildare County Council the bus stop “is still under review” and the councillors will be updated “in due course.”
