ALLEGATIONS

A man accused of assaulting his sister in County Kildare has had his case sent forward for trial.

The court was previously told that the man had allegedly assaulted his sister on a date in 2021.

It was heard that the woman's children were present in the house at the time of the alleged incident, and Judge Desmond Zaidan imposed reporting restrictions on the man's identity in order to protect the identities of the children.

After a book of evidence was served by gardaí on the accused, the judge sent the case forward to the present sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court.

The defendant is contesting the accusations made against him.
