42 affordable homes for Kildare border area

Some 42 affordable homes are being provided at the Ballycomyn development in Blessington.
Wicklow County Council has received approval for 42 affordable homes, comprising 30 two-bedroom homes and 12 three-bedroom homes.
The homes were secured through an agreement with developer Cairn Homes, with funding now approved.
Deputy Edward Timmins said he had called on Cairn Homes “to include affordable housing as part of this development.”
He added this represents an important step towards “providing affordable housing for local people” but stressed that more work remains to be done.
He stated the homes will make a real difference to local families and first-time buyers who want to remain in their community.
