An urgent appeal was issued on RTÉ’s Crimecall recently following a shocking criminal damage incident in Athy, Co Kildare.

Occurring just three weeks ago, footage from a doorbell camera showed a man pacing outside a house in this area. According to Garda Greg Freegrove, the suspect was seen walking back and forth a few times before eventually approaching the front door of the property.

From here, the man pulled out, what appears to be, a mallet wrapped in a plastic bag and used it to hit the front door and doorbell several times. placeholder image
