Better pedestrian crossings needed as traffic is shifted to a new road in this Kildare town

An upgrade has been called for because vehicle movements will change
A call as been made for pedestrian crossings to be improved in Clane - because of the likelihood of more traffic using the route.
Cllr Pádraig McEvoy has asked Kildare County Council to come up with a plan of action to upgrade pedestrian crossings at the roundabouts on the Clane inner relief road.
He said this is necessary because of a planned extension through the Capdoo townland.
Cllr McEvoy predicted this extension will "shift traffic from Main Street" on to the relief road.
