Bus stop must be provided for people who use public transport

Some people have to walk for 30 minutes to reach a bus stop
An extra local link bus stop is necessary on the Naas road in Blessington.
Cllr Edward Timmins said it should be provided from the allocation of €500,000 set aside to pay for bus stops across County Wicklow.

A new Naas Road stop “will greatly alleviate added pressures for Blessington residents travelling to Naas and Sallins.”
He added the Naas Road meets the main criteria for a stop - safety and passenger need.
He also pointed out it is policy to provide local routes that connect smaller settlements with the regional public transport network - and this can only be achieved with more stops.
“I will make the case for more stops in west Wicklow where public transport options are severely limited. The bus is the only public transport in Blessington currently,” said Cllr Timmins.
