Busy link road still closed for urgent repairs in south Kildare

A busy link road near Kilkea Castle in south Kildare continues to be closed to traffic for urgent repairs.
Kildare County Council (KCC) said that there is no public access to the L8084, known locally as the Millbrook Road, from the R418 at Kilkea Bridge to Beaconstown junction.
The route has been closed since 8am on Friday, August 23 "until further notice".
The Council said the closure is to "facilitate emergency repairs to the structure known as 'Nine-Eye Bridge'.
The local authority added that signposted diversions are in place and access for local residents will be accommodated.
