The nation is currently glued to their television screens watching the gripping story of  a Kilcullen schoolgirl being drugged by her on screen mother in Fair City.

12-year-old Susie Power, from Calverstown, is living a very different life to her fellow schoolmates at Gaelscoil Nas na Riogh. The current world  champion actress awarded by the Performing Arts Hollywood is also now gearing up for a big part in a popular BBC children's series, Little Roy. This morning, when her classmates were returning to school after the holidays, Susie was collected by a chauffeur at 6.30a.m. that transported her to Dublin, to rehearse.

She is joined on set by a fellow Kilcullen girl, Robyn Dempsey, who plays the part of  Becky in Little Roy.

Between juggling the highly controversial role of Heather Dempsey's daughter in Fair City and learning lines for Little Roy, life is busy.  She is also doing voice overs for Disney, leaving her unable to attend school regularly.

However, her teacher at the  Naas Gaelscoil  is now her home tutor and provides extra classes for Susie in the evenings.

Speaking to KildareNow, her  mother, Maureen V.Ward, who runs Talented Kids,  and is also agent for children and adult actors, expressed pride at her only child's achievements.

Ms Ward said: "She is so good, she loves what she is doing. She is having the time of her life. I am so proud of her. It is a dream come true for her."

Growing up in a family that is passionate about the arts, acting was a logical step for Susie, who at the age of nine months made her stage debut, dressed as Simba. She performed in Fair City from  the ages of three to four, but finished when the script sent her on -screen family to Brazil, they are now back and are creating a stir in Carrickstown.

On New Year's Eve,  just when  Fair City viewers thought that  Heather Daly, played by Una Kavanagh,  couldn’t sink any lower she does just that.  People were  shocked when she drugs her own daughter Ellie, played by Susie, to remain the centre of attention during the festivities.

Heather had found that when Ellie had been sick with appendicitis, people had paid her a lot of attention. In a bid to enjoy her New Year festivities, and get more attention, she drugged her daughter. The story unfolds, with more surprising twists in store.
