Coffee cargo stolen while driver slept at Junction 14 Mayfield

Several crates of coffee worth thousands of euro were taken from a truck while the driver slept.

The brazen theft took place while the vehicle was parked overnight in the Junction 14 Mayfield service station car park between Monday night and 5am on Sunday morning last.

Members of the public have been asked to report anything suspicious around the green-coloured Volvo truck.

Gardai said that the thieves must have had a suitable form of transport to carry the crates such as a van or a trailer.

Junction 14 Mayfield is a popular stop-over on the M7 motorway near Monasterevin for motorists to buy fuel or dine in the nearby restaurants.
