Court hears from woman that her child was the result of rape

She is living in a 'safe house'
A woman told Naas District Court that her child was the result being raped.
She sought protection under family law legislation at Naas District Court.
The woman told the court that the man is harassing her verbally and emotionally and the gardaí are investigating a rape, which she alleges happened two years previously.
“I am in a safe house, a women’s refuge,” she told Judge Desmond Zaidan.
She told the court that the gardaí are still investigating the matter and she said the man was a tenant in the house where her family lived.
She also claimed that the man was a friend of her husband and she had suffered domestic violence by her husband.
Both men came from the same country and the woman has a disabled child.
Judge Zaidan granted a protection order. No other parties were present or represented for the hearing.
Adjourning the case for a fuller hearing, the judge directed that the gardaí serve the order on him.
