Did you see it? Northern Lights spotted over Co Kildare last night

This is a photo of the Aurora or Northern Lights seen over Carbury Castle in north west Co Kildare last night.

The scene, which can only be glimpsed with a clear sky, was sent to us by KildareNow reader Adrian Leech.

An aurora, sometimes referred to as a polar light, is a natural light display in the sky, predominantly seen in the high latitude regions like Scandinavia.
