Disagreement in Co Kildare IFA around resignations

In Newbridge a small group of IFA members attended a meetin discuss the current situation in the IFA on Monday last. About 80 people attended the meeting, with final submissions to the Con Lucey report the main item on the agenda.
Although some people called for the executive board to resign, it was decided in the end to wait for Con Lucey's report before making any such motions.
The executive board comprises of acting president Tim O’Leary, treasurer Jer Bergin as well as regional chairs Tom Turley, Bert Stewart, James Murphy and James McCarthy.
There is still a divergence among county executives, with 10 now calling for further resignations, and 15 calling for no further action at least until Con Lucey has delivered the findings of his investigation to the executive council.
Lucey, former chief economist of the IFA, will present his report on the organisation's governance and remuneration structures to the council on Tuesday 15 December.
