€1.4m funding approved for golfing project in Maynooth, Co. Kildare

€1.4m of funding has been approved for a golfing project in Maynooth, Co Kildare from the Large Scale Infrastructure Fund.

The proposed development is at Golf Ireland, Carton Demesne, Maynooth W23 YX35, Co Kildare, with funding approved on January 28 2025.

A decision to grant planning permission was issued by Kildare County Council on September 19 2024 to Golf Ireland for a single storey, detached building with a gross floor area of 396sq.m containing a high-performance golf centre consisting of gym, indoor putting, physio, trackman facility, reception/meeting room, changing facility/wc and circulation areas.

Also, ancillary development including hard and soft landscaping, footpaths and associated site works. the proposed development is located in the demesne grounds associated with Carton House which is a protected structure (rps no. b06-09 and b06-09i). 

The architects for the project are Demesne Architects Limited.
