Judge Desmond Zaidan made the decision on Thursday, October 26 last, in the case of a defendant who was meant to be appear during an in-camera (in private) court session, but who never turned up.
The judge previously franted a safety prder for the man's ex-partner last year.
He also noted that he did not turn up to court on the last scheduled appearance either.
When he called the man's ex-partner to the stand, she explained that when she was in her bedroom, he came into her room univited and tried to enter into her bed.
"He said: 'this is my bed, and I will be sleeping here with you'" she explained.
An argument soon broke out between the two parties, and shortly afterwards, she reported the man to the gardaí.
When she was asked how it made her feel, the woman replied: "Scared."
She also said that the safety order extended for another two years: "I feel safer with the order in place."
It was heard that the man has one previous conviction for a road traffic offence.
Judge Zaidan decided to convict the man for the breach, and fined him €500, which is to be paid within three months.
The injured party thanked the judge after he imposed his verdict.
