A KFC supervisor in Newbridge who was sacked after alleged irregularities on sales of 'Kream Balls' has been awarded €31,000 for unfair dismissal.

The Employment Appeals Tribunal heard the former employee was dismissed in 2014 over "invalid voids/refunds" totalling €263 mainly on €1.99 Kream Balls.

The supervisor then lodged an appeal against the decision by Dublin-based KFC franchisee firm Scotco Eastern (Ireland) Limited to sack him.
