Fun and activities for all of the family to enjoy at Kildare Animal Foundation's annual Open Day this Sunday

Kildare Animal Foundation is seeking volunteers to help bake and to set up stalls and tents ahead of its annual Open Day which is set to take place this Sunday, 8 July at 1pm.

Speaking to KildareNow ahead of the Open Day, Kildare Animal Foundation said: "We are looking for volunteers on Friday afternoon and Saturday afternoon to help with the set up. On the open day itself, we take inquiries about cats & dogs for rehoming but as we require a home visit, no actual adoptions will happen on the day itself."
Kildare Animal Foundation was set up to rescue and provide a haven for all kinds of animals across the county, to bring them back to full health in body and mind and to find them new loving homes.
Kildare Animal Foundation caters for at least 50-60 dogs looking for a long-term home, as well as many cats plus a plethora of rescued wild life and orphaned birds. At the moment, Kildare Animal Foundation is nursing back to health an injured swan and an orphaned young cygnet who have formed a heartwarming bond.
Items on sale at the event on the South Green Road include: Plants, Antiques, Bottle Stall, Crafts, Cakes and Clothes. For youngsters, there will be face painting with an opportunity to pet the animals looking for new homes as well as kids games sure to entertain the entire family!
Meanwhile, a BBQ will also be available to offer food options on the day, and the organisers are asking members of the public not to bring their pet dogs to the open day as it can upset other animals at the shelter.
