Music in several different venues for a whole weekend free of charge! We aim to provide a free and fun festival, a happy and proud atmosphere in our village, to showcase the many talented musicians we have in our locality and beyond and as well as promoting music, song and dance by local and national artists the aim of the Festival is to renew the rich musical heritage that once existed in the village around the time of the music sessions in Pat Dowling’s Pub, Downings House & other local venues.

Lots of well known and local musicians and singers gathered regularly to play and enjoy music and song, including Donal Lunny, Christy Moore, Members of The Dubliners, The Furey’s and their father Ted, Liam Og O’Flynn and many more.

PMF would like to stoke the fire of musical history in the village of Prosperous and encourage potential talent to thrive.

There will be a big focus this year on Traditional & Folk Irish Music. We have a Junior Festival taking place on the Bank Holiday Monday, allowing Prosperous Music Festival to showcase the young talent in the area.
