Help Naas woman with locked-in syndrome after she suffered stroke while on holiday

Friends of a Naas resident with 'locked-in' syndrome are raising funds for her medical treatment.
Happy-go-lucky college graduate Klaudia Rachwal (23) has seen her life changed dramatically since she suffered a stroke while on holiday in Poland last October.
This left her with 'locked-in' syndrome which means she was completely paralysed and could only communicate by blinking.
She spent four weeks in an Intensive Care Unit connected to a respirator and other life support equipment fighting for her life.
She was then transfered to a neurology department where she spent another month.
She is now in a specialised rehabilitation centre in Poland where she is fighting a constant battle.
Klaudia's freind Natalia Ditrich said: "She can now talk a little and have a little movement in some parts of her body.
"The journey to recovery will be long and Klaudia needs our help. She is financially covered for rehabilitation only until April.
"We need to raise money to allow her to stay in the clinic as long as required. This will allow her to avail of their facilities and successfully recover. I would kindly ask people to help if they can. Any small gesture will be deeply appreciated."
