November is traditionally a time to remember those in our lives who have died.

As such, it provides an opportunity for comfort and sharing, for coming together with others who have lost someone.

The Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF) is hosting its annual evening of remembrance on Thursday, 1st November 2018. This is a free public information event allowing people to hear about aspects of loss and bereavement which may help them understand aspects of their own loss.

Guest speaker Niamh Fitzpatrick will talk about Living with Loss: Observations on grief from the inside out.

Niamh is a psychologist and the sister of Captain Dara Fitzpatrick, who died when Rescue 116 crashed off the coast of Mayo in March 2017. Three other Irish Coast Guard crew also died in the crash at Blackrock Island.

Throughout the evening, there will be videos and an opportunity to meet with and find out about bereavement support services operating in the Dublin area.

It takes place on Thursday, 1st November 2018 5.30pm to 8.00pm at The Alex Hotel, 41-47 Fenian Street (off Merrion Square), Dublin 2.  All are welcome to attend.
