Judges 'don't talk to each other'

'We don't share a cup of tea or Christmas greetings'
Judges sitting in the district court do not talk to each other.
Judge Desmond Zaidan told a Naas District Court sitting that judges are independent of each other.
He was explaining why he was refusing to get involved in any way with a case destined to be heard by another judge - unless this was reversed and the matter was placed on his list instead at a future date. He struck out the case instead.
“We don’t share a cup of tea, we don’t exchange Christmas greetings.”
He said judges cannot interfere with each other.
“We have different interpretations - like doctors,” he added.
