KILDARE ANIMALS IN NEED: Cara and Billie seeking loving homes

Cara, is a seven year old, very quiet and loving, female greyhound who needs a nice retirement home. She spends her days lazing around in her outside run and her nights sleeping on the couch in our kitchen.

An old leg injury that went untreated has limited her to short walks on the flat only. She was most likely no longer wanted because of this. However, the leg is fully healed and is not impeding her. According to the vet, it is now as good as it’ll ever be. We’ve noticed though that too much exertion will cause her to get temporarily a little lame. While with the vet she had her teeth cleaned. Cara also has a dry-eye condition and needs daily eye-drops administered for the rest of her days. Cara is happy to meet other dogs and while with us has shared her kennel with a young female lurcher.

So, a home with a garden, a nice couch, the odd short walk and a willingness to apply her daily eye-drops is about all this nice dog now requires……..well, a dose of love is essential as Cara likes cuddles too!

We will continue to fund any long-term medical requirements for Cara’s life but would love to see her move out of the Shelter into a loving home environment.

Cara has been spayed, microchipped (972274200409752), vaccinated and treated for worms and fleas.

If you have an interest in either adopting or long-term fostering Cara, please either call 087 6887136 to chat about her or visit our website for details.

Another seven year old that came into our care recently is Billie, a pretty little white Bichon Cross who is an absolute darling. Happiest living in our kitchen at the shelter, she adores company and is obviously used to being an indoor dog.

Billie is a cute little thing, petite and lightweight, friendly to everyone and gets on really well with all the other dogs at the shelter. She has been well loved in her previous life.

Billie has been booked for rehoming this week and will go to a loving family for a great future.
