Kildare-based firm urges consumers to buy sustainable toys for Christmas
Treasured Toys sources and curates a range of toys, games and puzzles that are environmentally sustainable
Kildare-based online sustainable toy store Treasured Toys is urging those buying toys for little ones this festive period to think sustainably and invest in a toy that will last generations instead of contributing to the environmental crisis and ending up as landfill.
Kilcullen firm said the toy industry uses more plastic in its products than any other sector according to a 2014 United Nations Environmental report.
It added that most toys are made of plastic and packaged in plastic, while their manufacturing processes also produce vast quantities of greenhouse gases.
Treasured Toys sources and curates a range of toys, games and puzzles that are aesthetically beautiful, durably made, environmentally sustainable and developmentally focused for growing minds.
In addition to stocking ethically produced new items, Treasured Toys has reimagined the notion of Pre-Loved gifting, by taking the time and hassle away from the purchaser. Treasured Toys sources and meticulously examines pre-loved items before listing them for re-sale on the site.
The Pre-loved range on the website is beautifully packaged so that it can also become a gift for another generation or child. Drawing on extensive and international toy expertise, Maria also offers a personal shopping option for those in need of some inspiration and direction for their purchases.
Speaking ahead of the festive season, owner and sustainable toy expert, Maria Bewley commented, “Research shows that over 70% of consumers are willing to pay more for sustainable, or eco-friendly alternatives to products they already buy, with a similar percentage in favour of doing away with single-use plastic in most everyday products. And aren’t toys everyday products, really, for the average family with young children? Our customers’ most popular choices have informed our Christmas edit this year, and we are sure if you are looking for a new or pre-loved sustainable toy, Treasured Toys has something right for you.”
Treasured Toys has curated its top Christmas gift list for 2024 to help those looking for a sustainable and fun offering for kids this festive season.
