Beer enthusiasts from Kildare will be among those heading to Dublin this month as the Dublin Beer Festival returns to the RDS for two days of craft brewing, food, music and entertainment.

Among the local producers featured at that event were Rye River Brewing, Trouble Brewing, The Dew Drop Brewery and Kildare Brewing Co - highlighting the growing craft drinks scene within the county.

The festival will take place on Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12, bringing more than 30 Irish and international breweries together under one roof.

Organisers say more than 150 beers will be available, ranging from established favourites to experimental and festival-exclusive releases.

For visitors travelling from Kildare, the RDS in Ballsbridge provides an easily accessible destination for a day or evening out, with public transport options including the DART and Dublin Bus services nearby.

The event comes shortly after the successful Taste of Kildare festival, which showcased the county's own food and drink producers at Naas Racecourse in August.

The Dublin Beer Festival will offer visitors the opportunity to meet brewers and sample a wide variety of beers, while the event will also feature cocktails, wine, RTDs and other drinks.

Food will be available throughout the festival, alongside DJs and live music, with organisers describing it as a celebration of Ireland's independent drinks scene as well as beer.

The festival will operate from 4pm to 10pm on Friday and from 2pm to 10pm on Saturday. Tickets include entry to the festival area and a souvenir cup, while drinks are purchased separately. The event is cashless and accepts card payments only.

The festival website says alcohol-free beer options will also be available from participating breweries.

With Kildare's own craft breweries helping to build the county's reputation for locally produced drinks, the Dublin event offers an opportunity for beer lovers from across the county to explore a wider selection of Irish brewing alongside international offerings.

The Dublin Beer Festival takes place at the RDS, Dublin 4, on September 11 and 12.
