KILDARE: Clane Musical & Dramatic Society celebrating 40 years

Clane Musical & Dramatic Society is celebrating 40 years in existence and are doing it in style with a Gala Dinner Dance,  and would love anyone interested to join them!

Since the first show back in 1983, which was “The Boyfriend”  Clane Musical Society, as it was back then, has gone on to entertain the town of Clane and its environs, with up to 3 productions every season.

The “Dramatic” bit was added officially in 2014 to recognise the other productions that grace the stage of the Abbey in Clane, which are not necessarily musicals.

Every year, apart from the obvious restrictions of Covid-19, the society present a musical, a play, and since 2015, we have ventured into the world of Pantomime which in itself is a wonderful start for our junior members to experience the joy of performing.

On Saturday, 14th October, CMDS will get out the glad rags, the tux, the bangles and baubles and head to The Westgrove Hotel to enjoy an evening of good food, fun and laughter and a live band and DJ.

The merriment will commence  at 07:30 with a Prosecco reception , followed by a three course dinner and after dinner,  “Uptown Band” will have us up dancing, and if we still have the energy, a live DJ will take to the stage after that !
