Kildare County Council wins accolade at Excellence in Local Government Awards

The Communications category was included for the first time this year and the award seeks to recognise communications and marketing campaigns that support local authorities’ strategic objectives and provide a better understanding of the work and role of councils.

In early 2022, Kildare County Council undertook a communications campaign titled ‘understanding Kildare’s County Development Plan’ aimed at providing a better understanding of the County Development Plan (CDP) and the process involved in its development, and why citizens and businesses should engage with it. 

The campaign was aimed at exploring the many aspects of the CDP, what it is, what it’s not, how it will inform the future development of the County and how the citizens of Kildare can have their say.

The Excellence in Local Government Awards showcase best practice in local government and recognise the skills, hard work, innovation and enthusiasm within local government that can often go unrecognised.

The Excellence in Local Government Awards were held in conjunction with the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage.
