Kildare court: Man accused of assaulting his partner wants to get his issue ‘sorted’
ADDICTION
A man brought in by gardaí to Naas District Court on Thursday, December 1 has said that he wishes to overcome his drinking issue.
The man in question was accused of assault causing harm against his partner, and it was heard that he had an issue with alcohol.
Gardaí told sitting Judge Joanne Carroll that his partner has not filed a domestic violence order against him, and added that they are 'happy for him to come home, as long as he is sober.'
In response, the man told the judge that he 'is looking at getting his issue sorted.'
After gardaí said that they had no objection to bail, Judge Carroll granted bail for the man.
However, she also advised him to look into taking up a new residence while he tries to tend to his addiction.
