KILDARE COURT: Man kicked down door and lunged at partner's daughter

A man kicked down the door of an address where his partner was and also lunged at her daughter.
The claims were made at Naas District Court.
The man was before the court for assault and a breach of the Public Order act on December 17, 2021.
Sgt Dave Hanrahan told the court that the teenage girl had been put in fear after the defendant lunged at her.
The man has a number of previous convictions and solicitor Tim Kennelly said that he is serving a sentence and is due for release this year..
The court also heard that the defendant was a builder but had an alcohol problem and “reacts quite badly to situations when he is drunk.”
Mr Kennelly also said that the man is attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in prison.
“When alcohol is taken out of the equation there are no problems. He wants to put this behind him,” he added.
Judge Desmond Zaidan imposed a six months term for assault, which will not add to his time in custody.
