KILDARE: Free parking for a month coming up in Naas
There will be free parking in Naas for the month of December, like last year.
The measure has been agreed by local councillors in a bid to encourage people in the town in the run up to Christmas.
It means that motorists can park without having to pay if they use the off street parking in the car parks operated by Kildare County Council.
These are at Fairgreen, Newbridge Road, Hedermans off Friary Road, the car park at Friary Road and at Abbey Street.
However the charges will still apply to on street parking and the parking wardens will be working.
The free parking runs from December 1 to December 31.
However motorists are reminded that there are private car parks in the town centre, which clamps offending vehicles and which are not part of this amnesty.
Equally, people parking on the street will still have to pay.
