Kildare gardai seize two non-compliant e-scooters

Gardai are clamping down on illegally operated vehicles
While out on patrol this week, Naas Roads Policing Unit in Kildare seized two non-compliant e-scooters.
The e-scooters were overweight and exceeded maximum legal power limits.
An e-bike fitted with an illegal throttle was also seized.
A garda spokesperson stated: “Let's be clear: these are NOT toys and they are NOT legal when modified or overpowered. When vehicles exceed legal limits, they become a serious danger to the rider and everyone else on the road.
“If it’s overpowered – it’s illegal; if it has a throttle – it’s not compliant; if it’s unsafe – it will be seized.
“We are actively targeting non-compliant e-scooters and eBikes. Enforcement will continue. Think before you ride. Stay legal. Stay safe.”
