21 kids from the ages of eight to 14 from Newbridge, Kilcullen and Monasterevin, are due on Paris tomorrow (Friday) morning at a Martial Arts European Championship event taking place over three days.

Many of the flights to Paris due to carry over the Irish Qwan Ki Do (a Vietnamese - Chinese martial arts style) team have been cancelled because of a French air traffic controllers strike. The families of the competitors are looking to see what they can do to get them to Paris for the competition. The parents have set up a GoFundMe (link below), with a target of €2500 and have so far raised €575.

The fund was initially set-up for any potential costs that the team may incur over the course of the trip, but has since been re-purposed due to today's cancelled flights.
