Kildare man facing 52 sexual assault charges has case sent forward for trial

REPORTING RESTRICTIONS
A County Kildare man faces 52 separate accusations of sexually assaulting his daughter.
The charges were detailed before Judge Desmond Zaidan at Naas District Court on Thursday, February 8 last.
Judge Zaidan imposed reporting restrictions on the case.
Gardaí allege that the man sexually assaulted his daughter on 52 separate occasions in Kildare over the course of four years.
It was heard that his daughter was a child during the time of the alleged offences.
Defending barrister Mark Gibbons says his client is 'entirely refuting' the allegations he is facing.
After a book of evidence was served on the man by gardaí, Judge Zaidan sent the man's case forward for trial to the present sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court, which commenced on January 16 last.
The judge remanded the accused on continuing bail until his case resumes.
CHANGE MADE
In addition, Judge Zaidan also agreed to lift one condition of the man's bail terms.
From now on, the defendant only has to sign on once a week at his local garda station instead of twice a week.
