KILDARE: More time needs to be given to cross the street

More time must be given to allow people to cross the main street in Naas near the Bank of Ireland premises.
Vulnerable road users have priority and the time given to people to cross the road is not enough, according to Naas Mayor Bill Clear.
This could be done, he said, by removing the flashing yellow lights, the “flashing man” and the yellow vehicle light.
He said the crossing is very wide and vehicle speeds are “significant at this point.”
He added: “There is not enough time to cross the road before the man icon starts flashing.”
