Kildare residents are being urged to get out of their cars

Kildare County Council is promoting walking and cycling
Kildare County Council says it is progressing and promoting “high-quality, suitable, safe and sustainable walking and cycling pathways and facilities” across the county.
It was responding to Cllr Bill Clear, who asked about efforts being made to encourage people to cycle to work and school.
The council says a number of projects have been delivered at various locations including Naas, and Moone-Timolin and more are planned for Sallins, Maynooth, Celbridge and Naas.
It is also encouraging students and pupils to walk to cycle to school using pre-determined schemes. KCC also said achieving a significant reduction in car dependency can't be done just by KCC and requires an all-Government approach to monitor progress. Accurate data for this regard won't be available until Census 2027 is completed,
